Our Winter Trend Analysis is in : Here’s our Pinterest Boards for A/W 2024

As winter starts to creep in and the cold air hits, it’s honestly prime time for us modest fashion girlies! Winter makes dressing modest so much easier, thanks to all the layering options. The struggle of finding something that’s cute AND modest basically disappears. Oversized jumpers, long coats, maxi skirts—they're not just practical but super on-trend, too. Throw a turtleneck under any dress or top and you’re sorted 🪄

Winter just makes dressing easier. No need to overthink it—you can layer without worrying about staying cool like in summer, and the fashion this time of year is all about comfort and coverage.

🛌 How to notWinter Rot

If I am honest—winter can also be a drag. The short days, cold weather, and darker evenings can leave you feeling meh or unmotivated. It’s easy to fall into that “winter rot” where you just want to stay in bed and do nothing. But instead of letting the winter blues take over, why not flip the script and make it exciting? One thing that can help is creating fun winter vision boards—whether it’s for your outfits, home décor, or even just your overall winter vibes.

🖼️ Make Winter More Fun with Vision Boards

A fun board (or mood board, if you’re feeling fancy) can really shift your whole mindset. Think of it as a personal Pinterest in real life. You’re creating something that’s not only inspiring but also gets you hyped about winter instead of dreading it. Here’s how you can make it work:

  • Layering Inspo: Find outfit ideas that get you excited to dress up every day. Whether it’s cozy knits, long coats, or modest-friendly layers, make a board full of looks that you’d love to wear.

  • Winter Colors: Focus on mood-boosting colors like rich greens, warm burgundy, or soft pastels that keep your wardrobe fresh and cozy.

  • Self-Care Moments: Add images of cozy blankets, candles, warm drinks, or even books you want to read. Creating a space or routine that feels special can make winter something to look forward to.

  • Seasonal Goals: Have things you want to achieve this winter? Maybe it’s redecorating your room, working on a new hobby, or upgrading your wardrobe. Visualizing those goals helps keep you motivated and out of that winter slump.

Now, let’s get into our trend analysis and our own boards!

🤓 Our Winter Boards & Trend Analysis

We’ve been keeping an eye on what’s trending across social media and took a lot of inspo from London Fashion Week 2024 to pull together some key themes for your winter boards. Oversized layers, rich jewel tones, and that perfect mix of comfortable and classy are all over the runways and our FYP. London Fashion Week was full of statement coats, maxi skirts, and sleek turtlenecks, making layering effortless and stylish. Meanwhile, Instagram is blowing up with cozy knits, neutral tones, and pops of deep green and burgundy—perfect for a modest winter wardrobe. Here are the results:

  1. Maxi Skirt & Oversized Top

This winter, maxi skirts and oversized tops are everywhere and super easy to style. Maxi skirts give full coverage while keeping things laid-back and stylish, especially when paired with a baggy jumper for that perfect comfy look.

What’s great about this trend is how versatile it is. You can throw on a knit and a flowy maxi for something casual, or level it up with a satin skirt and an oversized turtleneck for a more polished vibe. The oversized top and maxi skirt combo is comfortable, modest, and on-trend, making it perfect for layering and staying warm without compromising your values.

2. Burgundy Take Over

Burgundy is set to be THE ✨  colour this winter, embodying the season with its deep tones. This versatile shade adds warmth and elegance to any outfit. From warm knits to stylish coats and gorgous accessories, burgundy pairs well with winter's softer colors, adding a touch of luxury. It's suitable for both casual and fancy events!

3. Indoor Activities

As winter sets in, embracing indoor activities  like these can greatly enhance your experience of the colder months:

  • Reading a good 📚 book with a hot cup of tea is a great way to relax.

  • Hosting a 👩🏽‍🎨 paint party with friends adds fun and creativity.

  • For some excitement, ⛸️ ice skating is a great way to stay active when it’s cold.

  • Discovering 🏫 local libraries are great for finding new books and encouraging a love for reading that you might’ve missed since school.

  • 👩🏽‍🍳 Baking fills your kitchen with comforting smells, very mindful… very demure.

  • Playing 🏸 badminton is super fun and usually end in chaotic competition between friends. It’s usually indoors too!

  • 🌈Adult colouring books are a calming way to be creative.

  • Going ☕️ cafe hopping lets you discover new (sweet) treats 🥹 and drinks.

  • Hosting a 🍵 Matcha tasting party with different flavours offers a mindful way to enjoy beautiful matcha.

4. Long Coats/ Cloak Abayas

This winter, long coats and cloak abayas will be must-haves in every wardrobe. These stylish pieces provide all the warmth and elegance for the colder months. Long coats have neat fits and rich fabrics ⭐️, making them suitable for both casual and formal events. Cloak abayas offer flowy designs and luxurious textures like velvet, combining modesty with modern style.

5. Faith Journaling

As we enter the final quarter of the year, Islamic journaling can serve as a powerful tool for reflection 📿 and personal growth 📈. This practice can help you align your goals with the deep, encouraging mindful consideration of intentions and actions. By documenting thoughts, prayers, and aspirations, you can cultivate a deeper connection with your beliefs while assessing the progress made in the year thus far. Embrace this opportunity to reset your focus, enhance your spiritual journey, and prepare for the coming months with clarity and purpose. Let each entry be a step towards personal development and a reaffirmation of your commitment to your islamic values.

6. Monochrome

Monochrome outfits continue to dominate winter fashion ❄️, emphasising a chic and minimalistic approach. By focusing on a single colour palette, you can create looks that are both modest and reflective of your individual style. Layering in neutral hues creates a classy, understated vibe, while bold jewel tones can make a striking statement. These outfits seamlessly transition from day to night, perfect for any occasion during the colder months.

That’s all folks! As we finish our winter Pinterest boards, it's clear that the season focuses on warmth, comfort, and modesty. By using these trends, you can design a fun and warm vibe for the end of this year. Let these boards inspire happy moments and togetherness this winter.
